A Business mobile phone - BlackBerry Curve 8900

"It feels like BlackBerry has been targeting the 'business community' for a long time. But with the Apples' iPhone battling for the market targeting all sorts of individuals + Google and Palm into the 'trend' suddenly the phone giant is pumping bulks of new mobile phones in to the market. "

Everyone is aware of the companys obsession of the keyboard. It's like their trade-mark. Anyway the Curve 8900 comes with a well spaced (QWERTY) keyboard for a mobile phone. The display uses a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels (2.44 inch). From starting with the main display menus almost everything is simplified in the this smart phone. But the display fails to meet the high standards (65,000 colors) set by the iPhone and Nexus One.

When it comes to e-mailing nothing beats business mobile phones from the phone giant and also the popular SMS typing with the help of its keyboard by default supports many popular e-mail services and embedded in the 8900. Make attachments or view MS Office documents you name it!

The 3.2 Megapixel camera is also impressive but again iPhone 3GS beats the BlackBerry 8900. But still its ability to produce top-quality pictures is really impressive. With a coupled of a Mp3 player the sound is excellent and really loud. And the jack for the headphone unlike the iPhone ,Nokia and many other 'specially made' outputs , the curve 8900 includes a 3.5mm which enables the user to jack in any commonly available headphone - nicely done.

Apart from music the video playback capabilities also really impressive with this smart phone. The default player supports variety of video formats such as ;

Video -XviD (MPEG4 Advance Simple Profile), H.263, WMV3

Audio -  .3gp, WAV, MIDI, AMR-NB, G711u/A, GSM610, PCM, MP3, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, WMA9/10 Standard/Pro

which is again a little beat-up for Apple for their arrogance for supporting 'Apple formats'.

This smartphone is also coupled with a 1GB microSD card and the potential to expand this to 16GB. So there is plenty of space for all of your music and videos. The preloaded 5 games are also can come in handy for killing some time (featuring Sudoku, BrickBreaker etc)

When it comes to the connectivity there are some great and bad news. This  mobile phone includes WiFi (802.11b/g enabled), Bluetooth 2.0 but missing 3G! which is again a big disappointment. Anyway with many other features such as even though at 3.2 mpx a great video camera, supporting a long list of media file types and also a heavy duty battery which lasts longer even if you're really busy with the smart phone the BlackBerry curve 8900 (missing 3G and 16 Million color depth) is a good 'figher' from BlackBerry.
