New Web Browsers for iPhone 4 - (iPhone, iPod touch Web browsers News)

"Like most of the dominating companies, Apple also didn't allow third party software or utilities if they resemble the main features that are already included in iPhone by default. For example if you've a web browser other than the Safari (default iPhone web browser) then you won't be able to sell or promote it directly through Apple. But things are starting to change a little bit"

But with the introduction of iPhone 4 Apple has already "adjusted" few marketing strategies already such as the long awaited and most criticized multitasking ability was finally given (to some extent) with the new iOS4 release. Anyway now there are few different web browsers for iPhone available to download from iTune store!. Here's list,

1.The Edge Browser (FREE) - This is a free web browser for iPhone and iPod touch

2. Incognito - This browser costs you around $1.99 and available through iTunes. Experts say when it comes to security (concerning clearing cache etc..) this is a good choice.

3. Shaking Web ($1.99) - This browser is still under development according to sources and must have functions such as "open a new window" are not still working so beware!

4. WebMate (almost $1 -, 99 cents) - The main concept behind this browser is to let easily access users the web sites for later viewing. But again those who used complain about some errors (tab browsing could be hard etc..).

So anyway according to the source (I'll give you the original article link, at the bottom) all these browsers are based on the Safari development kit. In another words they're actually add-on like features and Safari runs as their web browser engine. So this could explain why Apple "suddenly" let the end user receive third party web browsers .
